THE COURSES
Knowing how to tie is not only about drawing with ropes on a body or immobilize a person. It’s about doing it with pleasure, style and connection between top and bottom. You can’t learn shibari from books or video tutorials because only with the direct experience of a class you can understand the right tension of the ropes, how to realize frictions in the right way, how to develop variations on the basic ties, but above all how to use the rope with feeling, which is the most important aspect of bondage, the one that makes the difference between a simple tie and one that makes us feel deep sensations.
METHOD
La quarta corda offers a clear method where the various techniques, from the basic to the more complicated ones, are explained slowly and precisely, step by step, allowing to understand all the mechanisms which stand behind the outcome of a correct tie.
During a course you not only learn “how” but also “why”, in order to acquire a system which will ensure the safety and the fluidity in the practice of ropes and which will enable us to express ourselves in a personal way and not simply copying someone else’s ties.
SAFETY
During the course we’ll talk about safety in order to discover a lot of concerns that we often underestimate due to inexperience. Safety rules will be explained with practical examples that allow you to better understand how much safety in tying is important.
STYLE
The style I teach is the Japanese bondage in the style of La quarta corda, an extremely emphatic style where the three aspects of technique, aesthetics and communication always walk together for a safe, beautiful and pleasant bondage.
From the beginning we’ll focus on control, empathy and the “ma”, that is what we do “between” one rope and another and that gives a sense to our ties. We’ll understand what is the kinbaku and how to use ropes not only to tie, but above all to give and receive emotions. This is not an on-line tutorial, but an experience to live together.
La quarta corda’s style is a personal, original and innovative elaboration of traditional kinbaku techniques where tradition and technical development melt in order to create a system of elegant and functional ties.
