As you probably know, I’m both a rope artist and a professional musician.

Probably because of that, for me the music is a fundamental element in performance. I often move on stage following its rhythm.

I performed without music just once and it was very disorienting. I had difficulty in concentrating, as I miss something that always helped me in focusing on what I was doing.

For me performance music cannot be just a few songs mixed together, so I like preparing accurately my background music.  The key and the beat must correctly mix, songs have to be interesting but not distracting, smooth enough to work with any unprepared performance. No pop or too famous songs, no upbeat music, no vocals, etc. I need a whole day to choose, set up and mix a tracklist!

I like ambient, cinematic, hypnotic, emotional music, like the one by Olafur Arnalds, Max Richter, Roger Goula, etc. I remember a performance in Rome where the last part of the music was just the sound of rain!

The purpose is to create a background that helps me and the audience in focusing, filling the action, underlining the performance mood.

These are a couple of tracks I prepared and that I’ll use in performance.

Listen to them and let yourselves be impressed.
